How to less amount of operator for new generation of welded pipe mill?

Automatic coil loading and pipe packing system are keys. FD makes machineries in one operator for loading and one operator for packing by pushing buttons in automatic control with small proportion of labor cost.

Taking a 219mm pipe mill as an example, there are 8 operators per shift for a conventional pipe mill from coil loading up to pipe packing and 16 operators for two shifts, the amount of operator is 4 times of that of FD made mill, there are big differences in labor cost.

Due to the heavy operator’s labor intensity, safety-related accidents happened frequently. Even if the design speed of the mill is very high, because the operator’s strength is limited, the potential of speed is difficult to play out.
